Comic Talent Headed to TerrifiCon 2023
Spoiler alert: I like comic conventions. I created the comic convention and events calendar as a resource for people to find conventions they might be interested in attending. One of several events taking place this weekend is TerrifiCon. Held at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT., it's one of those events that's been gathering steam among the comic community due to its strong focus on the comics. That includes comic creators, which is why we're here today.
From time to time, I like to spotlight a comic convention's guest list, even for ones I won't be attending. The talent at this show includes writers, pencillers, inkers and colorists. Talk about loaded.
TerrifiCon starts with an eXtra-sized bang as one of their guests of honor is acclaimed writer Chris Claremont. His contributions to the realm of comics can't be overstated.
I have to give a special shout-out to Tim Townsend. Here's a creator I've wanted to meet for several years and part of the reason I made the trip to HeroesCon this year. And it was the pure fanboy moment I expected. He's also retiring. I'm not sure how this will impact his convention appearances, so meet him while you can.

How about bringing in Ron Garney, Darryl Banks, Denys Cowan, Arthur Adams, Dan Jurgens, Steve McNiven, Louise Simonson and Walter Simonson? That's to name (just) a few more. It's safe to say Mitch Hallock did a fantastic job pulling in such a deep list of creatives to the event. So much talent spread across the industry, and of different disciplines, gathered in one place is a sure way to excite comic fans.
One thing I always appreciate from convention organizers is when they provide pictures of creators, and not just of their work, but of the actual people. There have been several comic pros whose work I've enjoyed, but had no idea how they looked until meeting them. These creator cards featuring John Beatty, Jamal Igle, Howard Mackie, Keith Williams, Afua Richardson and Ron Wilson are a nice touch.
That's nowhere near all the comic pros who are at the show this year. You also have the likes of Alex Saviuk, Scott Hanna, Joe Rubenstein, Adriana Melo, Wade von Grawbadger and Al Milgrom. Take a look at the rest of the TerrifiCon 2023 comic creator guest list.
From what I've heard about TerrifiCon from fellow comic YouTubers is that this convention is another one that's great for its heavy focus on the comic content.
